Gross salary: € 1400 - 1950

The final salary level will be determined on the basis of merit after the interview. Benefits may include, depending on the position, free daily meals at one of the restaurants in the facility or free accommodation close to the respective property. The terms of the sectoral collective agreement for hotel employees in Chania apply.

Job description

As Pastry Chef (Chef Pâtissier) at Corissia Hotels & Resort, you will play a key role in the pastry section of our buffet and à la carte restaurants. You will create a wide range of desserts and pastries, combining traditional and modern techniques, to delight our guests with high-quality creations. With your expertise, creativity, and attention to detail, you will contribute significantly to guest satisfaction and the overall culinary excellence of our hotels.

Typical responsibilities

  • Prepare a variety of pastries, cakes, biscuits, and desserts following both classic and modern recipes.
  • Design and introduce new desserts to refresh menus and surprise guests.
  • Decorate baked goods with icings, glazes, and other finishing touches to ensure attractive presentation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic workspace in line with safety standards.
  • Monitor stock levels and order ingredients as required, within budget limits.
  • Check the quality of raw materials and the proper functioning of baking equipment.
  • Guide, train, and motivate assistants to improve efficiency and performance.
  • Assist in identifying staffing needs and contribute to the recruitment of pastry team members.

Necessary skills

  • Proven experience as a Pastry Chef, Baker, or in a related role.
  • High standards of aesthetics, creativity, and culinary expertise.
  • Ability to apply and enforce hygiene and food safety procedures.
  • Strong leadership, organizational skills, flexibility, and team spirit.
  • Experience in preparing pastries for dietary needs (e.g., gluten-free, sugar-free) will be considered a plus.
  • Previous experience in a 4* or 5* hotel environment will be highly appreciated.
