The nudist beach of Glyka Nera
Loutro is now the only place in Crete that can only be reached on foot or by water. From here you can reach the beautiful beach of Glyka Nera on foot or by boat. Nudism is permitted on this pebble beach surrounded by cliffs, with a unique taverna on a small rocky islet. In the other direction, it takes about 30 minutes to walk from Loutro along a stony path past the ruins of a medieval castle to Finix Bay with a small pebble beach and a few ancient remains.
Glyka Nera is a secluded paradise, accessible only to the bravest and most adventurous travelers. To reach this hidden gem, one must travel by boat or brave a challenging path from either Chora Sfakion or Loutro, winding along the edge of towering cliffs. Despite the heart-pumping views, the path is well-maintained and safe, thanks to the efforts of local authorities.
Once on the beach, weary travelers can rest and recharge at the small tavern perched on a rocky outcropping. Here, the crystal-clear water from the spring is safe to drink, and the sea remains refreshingly cool even in the heat of summer. Tamarisk trees provide shade and shelter from the sun's rays. Glyka Nera is a true oasis, a slice of heaven on earth for those brave enough to seek it out.

You will not be charged and you can cancel your booking request any time. Our dedicated team will get back to you to answer all questions or queries you may have, to confirm the current room availability and, if required, to assist you find the best available flights to Crete. We will also take care of your transfer from the airport to the hotel and back. Our personal support will be provided in writing by e-mail or in a follow up phone call, if you wish so.
- 3. Booking Confirmation To complete your booking, we kindly ask for a deposit of 20% of the total room rate. The balance can be settled upon arrival at the hotel. You can cancel free of charge (with deposit refund) at any time up to 15 days before arrival or alter your booking depending on availability.
