Full-time all year round or seasonal (April - end of October)

Gross salary: € 1200 - 1500

The final salary level will be determined on the basis of merit after the interview. Benefits may include, depending on the position, free daily meals at one of the restaurants in the facility or free accommodation close to the respective property. The terms of the sectoral collective agreement for hotel employees in Chania apply.

Job description

As a Kitchen Assistant at Corissia Hotels & Resort, you will support the smooth operation of the kitchen by assisting chefs and cooks in food preparation and maintaining cleanliness in all kitchen areas. Your role is essential to ensuring that high standards of hygiene, safety, and efficiency are consistently upheld, contributing directly to the overall dining experience of our guests.

Typical responsibilities

  • Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients.
  • Ensure that kitchen workstations, equipment, and utensils are clean, sanitized, and properly stored.
  • Maintain cleanliness of food preparation and storage areas according to hygiene and safety standards.
  • Operate dishwashing equipment and ensure dishes, pots, and pans are cleaned and returned promptly.
  • Assist in unloading, storing, and organizing deliveries of food and supplies.
  • Dispose of waste safely and keep the kitchen environment tidy at all times.
  • Support chefs in plating and serving dishes during busy service periods if required.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately.
  • Follow all food safety, HACCP, and hygiene protocols.

Necessary skills

  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to follow instructions.
  • Team spirit and willingness to assist wherever needed in the kitchen.
  • Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices.
  • Physical stamina and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Positive attitude, flexibility, and eagerness to learn.
  • Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality environment will be considered an advantage.
