Job description
As an Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the entire hotel organization and the strict implementation of procedures and standards. Your duties will include strategy development, performance improvement, procurement of materials and resources, and continuous compliance with established guidelines. You will also act as a mentor for your team members, inspire service excellence, and apply best practices across all departments. The ideal candidate will combine a professional attitude with strong leadership, consistency, and a pleasant personality to successfully guide and motivate the team.
Typical responsibilities
- Ensure that all operations are carried out efficiently, cost-effectively, and in full compliance with applicable legislation.
- Continuously improve systems and processes by implementing best practices in business management.
- Formulate strategic and operational objectives, supported by financial data analysis, budgets, and forecasts.
- Work closely and constructively with all department heads.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate staff performance while providing feedback and guidance.
- Conduct quality checks, cost controls, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Handle special guest requests with professionalism, courtesy, and efficiency.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with hygiene, health, and safety regulations.
Necessary skills
- Proven experience as an Operations Manager or in a similar role. Previous experience in a 4* or 5* hotel will be considered an advantage.
- Strong background in organizational effectiveness and operations management.
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and familiarity with financial principles.
- A degree in Business Administration or a related field.
- Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to respond resourcefully to emergencies and provide practical solutions.
- Team spirit, with the ability to work accurately, consistently, and courteously under pressure.
- Flexibility to work different shifts and hours.
