Job description

As a Civil Engineer – Quantity Surveying & Project Progress Control at Hotelleading, you will join the construction/technical team and play a key role in monitoring work progress, performing quantity take-offs (from drawings and on-site), and checking contractors’ progress certificates/payment claims. You will work closely with the Project Manager, site supervisors, subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring accuracy, proper documentation and alignment with schedules and technical specifications.

At this stage, the position can be either full-time (year-round) or part-time (focused on quantity surveying only).

Typical responsibilities

  • Prepare quantity take-offs from drawings (BOQ/measurements, shop drawings) and on-site (as-built verification).
  • Monitor construction progress against the project schedule and contractual requirements.
  • Support the preparation and verification of subcontractors’ progress certificates/payment claims (quantities, rates, agreements, deviations).
  • Maintain accurate records and filing of measurements, daily/weekly reports, photo documentation and project files.
  • Coordinate with the project team to resolve technical issues impacting quantities, specifications and deliverables.
  • Participate in site meetings and liaise with subcontractors for clarifications/corrections.
  • Track variations/changes and support their documentation (cause, impact, quantities).
  • Check that works comply with drawings, specifications and basic quality/safety requirements on site.

Necessary skills

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Structural Engineering / Construction Engineering / equivalent).
  • Experience or strong familiarity with quantity surveying, reading technical drawings and on-site monitoring (experience in hospitality/hotel projects is an advantage).
  • Very good understanding of drawings and technical documentation (plans/sections/details).
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and consistency in reporting/record keeping.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders (site team, subcontractors, suppliers).
  • Good computer skills (MS Office) and knowledge of AutoCAD and/or similar tools.
  • Basic knowledge of English (additional languages are a plus).

We offer

  • Participation in a high-standard hospitality project (Chania Old Town Resort & Spa) and exposure to upcoming Group developments.
  • A professional and supportive working environment within a structured technical team.
  • Competitive compensation package, based on experience and employment type (full-time/part-time).
  • Continuous development through hands-on involvement in construction, control and project delivery processes.
  • Flexibility in working arrangement at this stage (especially for a quantity-surveying-focused role).
  • Exciting projects and challenges to further develop, grow, and strengthen the group.
